On October 5th we had a field trip to Sensui Island in Tomonoura.
10月5日、鞆の浦にある仙酔島へ遠足に行きました。
We took a big bus in the morning.It was the biggest bus we had ever seen.
遠足の日の朝 今までに見たこともないくらいの大型バスに乗りましたよ!
On the journey we sang sea themed songs such as baby shark and down in the deep blue sea.
バスの中では、「ベイビー・シャーク」や「ダウン・イン・ザ・ディープ・ブルー・シー」などの海をテーマにした歌を歌いました。
The children all shouted in delight when we could see the sea.
バスの中で海が見えると子供たちは、大きな声でとっても喜んでいました!
We disembarked at the ferry port and jumped onto the ferry which would take us across to the island.
フェリー乗り場でバスを降りて、島へ向かうフェリーに乗りました
The ferry was small and black; it felt like a real pirate ship!
フェリーは、黒くて まるで海賊船のようでしたよ!
Class three and two sat inside and admired the ocean from the window.
クラス2、3はフェリーの室内に座って窓から海を眺めました。
Class four and five rode on the deck looking out at the splashing ocean and enjoying the sea breeze.
クラス4、5はデッキで海しぶきを眺めながら潮風を感じましたよ。
When we arrived at Sensui island we walked along the path weaving beside the ocean.
仙酔島に到着すると、海沿いの道を歩きました。
There was even a small rock arch we walked under.
小さな岩のアーチがあり、その下をくぐりました。
We then placed our backpacks in a small park overlooking a bay and headed towards the beach.
それから私たちは湾を見下ろす小さな公園にバックパックを置き、ビーチに向かいました。
At the beach we found a pirate (Mr. Daniel) who had lost his treasure in the sand.
ビーチで、私たちは砂の中に宝を失った海賊(ダニエル先生)を見つけました。
We quickly helped him dig up the treasure and in return he gave us a special sparkling star sticker.
私たちはすぐに彼が宝を掘り出すのを手伝い、お返しに彼は特別な輝く星のステッカーをくれました。
Then using buckets, spades, molds and sieves we played in the sand.
それからバケツ、スペード、型、ふるいを使って砂遊びをしました。
Mr. Daniel and Ms. Siobhan scooped up lots of water to make our sand a little wet so we could build big castles.
ダニエル先生ととシボン先生は、大きなお城を作りのためにたくさんの水を汲んでくれました。
After such an exciting activity we headed back to the park and sat down to eat our rice balls.
とても楽しいアクティビティを終えた後、私たちは公園に戻り、シートを敷いておにぎりを食べました。
While eating our food we saw a big eagle swooping overhead.
食べ物を食べていると、大きなワシが頭上を急降下するのが見えました
Then we saw the ferry boat go back and forth at the port.
フェリーが行ったり来たりするのも見ましたよ!
Finally, way up high in the sky we saw an old propeller style plane.
最後に、空のはるか上空に古いプロペラ型の飛行機が見えました。
It flew above us, and we waved backed.
上を飛んでいき、手を振りましたよ。
Now it was time to go home.
さあ、家に帰る時間になりました。
Everyone was so tired, and the gentle lulling of the boat made everyone very sleepy.
みんなとても疲れていて、ボートの穏やかな音でとても眠くなりました。
The bus home was so quiet; full of happy sleeping children!
帰りのバスはとても静かでした。幸せに眠っている子供たちでいっぱいです。
